Pinus monticola is a handsome, medium sized, conical evergreen tree native to Western North America with long bluish-green needles. Established plants develop grey, furrowed bark once mature and have long, slender cones.
Best habit and growth will usually be seen if planted in a sunny position with good drainage.
- Position: Full sun.
- Soil: Well drained soil.
- Hardiness: Hardy.
- Rate of Growth: Slow until settled down then moderate to vigorous.
