New to us, Malus coronaria 'Charlottae' is a lovely small tree covered with masses of semi-double, scented white to pale pink flowers in Spring once established. These flowers are followed by small greenish-yellow berries in autumn which are popular with birds. Mid green summer leaves have orange and purple autumn tints as they fall.

A superb small tree popular with wildlife.

  • Soil: Moist or well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Flowering Period: April - May.
  • Flower Colour: White - pale pink
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Small rounded tree once established.
    • Height: 6 - 8 m (20 - 26 ft).
    • Spread: 6 - 7 m (20 - 23 ft).
