(Japanese Mahonia) An attractive evergreen shrub, upright initially, spreading a little once more established which has long, pinnate (feather-like) dark green leaves and sprays of fragrant, yellow flowers in winter once established. Although hardy, in cold winters some leaves may develop purple, orange or red tints before turning back to green the following Spring.

Ideal for a position in sun or shade and prefers well drained soil. Slow growing initially and suitable for gardens with limited space.
