Magnolia x loebneri 'Mag's Pirouette' is a superb and reliable medium sized medium sized to large branching shrub with delicate, double white flowers in spring. Established plants covered with flowers are extremely eye-catching.

Best flower display will usually be seen if planted in a position with sun or light, dappled shade. West facing if possible to avoid the risk of frost damage on flowers.

  • Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soils.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Flowering Period: March - April.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Magnolia x loebneri 'Mag's Pirouette' grows to be a medium sized to large rounded shrub.
    • Height: 2.5 - 4 m (8 - 13 ft)
    • Spread: 3 m (10 ft)
  • Notes: We have found that although hardy, this Magnolia is best planted in an area which does not receive early morning sunlight in spring, as this combined with a frost can cause damage to the flowers.
