A very attractive small tree (larger in very sheltered areas), Magnolia 'Phillip Tregunna' has large rich purplish-pink flowers in spring once established, sometimes up to 20 - 25 cm across.

The best display of flowers will be seen when planted in a west facing position sheltered from cold winds. This Magnolia grows and flowers well in our arboretum in Derbyshire in a sheltered position.

  • Soil: Any well drained, fertile soils.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Flowering Period: April.
  • Flower Colour: Pink / Purple.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Magnolia 'Phillip Tregunna' grows to be a small tree once established or possibly larger in warm, sheltered areas.
