A handsome and slow growing, evergreen shrub with slightly contorted and curled, golden-green leaves which develop vivid dark purple tints during the winter. The young leaves in spring are a lighter golden-gren in colour. White pitcher-like flowers appear in late spring and early summer.

Best in sun or partial shade and grows well in a large container.
