(Contorted Larch) An unusual, pyramidal, deciduous small tree once established which has handsome sinuous and slightly contorted branches and stems. The needles are bright green in summer turning shades of bright yellow and bronze before falling in autumn. Established plants are covered with small cones in autumn and winter.

  • Position: Full sun or light shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil. Will tolerant damp ground as long as the water can drain away readily. Avoid waterlogged areas.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Rate of Growth: Slow to moderate.
  • Habit: Small tree with a pyramidal upright habit once established and contorted branches.
    • Height: up to 6 - 8 m (20 - 26 ft). Can be pruned to be smaller and more shrubby if required.
    • Spread: 3 - 4 m (10 - 13 ft).
