Previously known as Hydrangea macrophylla 'Blue Wave', this is a popular medium sized shrub with lush green leaves and rich-blue (or pink depending on your soil pH), flattened flower heads in late summer.
The dark green summer leaves turn attractive shades or purple or red before falling in autumn which often coincides with the last of the flowers (as shown in the photo - plant grown in neutral pH soil hence flowers are purple/pink).
Hydrangea macrophylla 'Mariesii Perfecta' is lovely and easy to grow, this is suitable for a spot in sun or shade in most gardens or woodland areas and looks great when planted in groups!
Can be grown well in a large container.

Please be aware that the water supply on our nursery is alkaline and frequently our blue flowering Hydrangea varieties will have pinkish or purple flowers when they arrive with you, despite having been grown here in an acidic compost.
This colour will continue for several months after planting before changing to reflect the new soil conditions in your garden.
