Griselinia littoralis 'Variegata'

A colourful evergreen shrub, Griselinia littoralis 'Variegata' has apple-green leaves edged with a creamy-white, irregular, variegation. These variegated leaves can help brighten an otherwise dark area of a garden.

An easy to grow, densely branching shrub which makes an excellent screen once established. Best in sheltered gardens and not really suitable for cold, windy areas.

• Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
• Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
• Hardiness: Reasonably hardy. Griselinia littoralis 'Variegata' requires protection from severe winter frost in cooler parts of the U.K.
• Flowering Period: June - August.
• Flower Colour: Pale yellow
• Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous but a smaller plant than the classic Griselinia littoralis.
• Habit: Medium or eventually large densely branching, rounded shrub. Can be pruned to size if required.

  • Spread: 2.5 m (8 ft).

• Notes: Griselinia littoralis 'Variegata' can be grown as a hedge if pruned regularly.
