Fargesia nitida 'Great Wall' is new generation clone not expected to flower for many years and has elegant, purplish-black canes, arching at the tips and reasonably short, narrow, bright green leaves.

An ornamental and densely shooting cultivar, this makes an effective screen, a spectacular standalone plant and a fine specimen for growing in a large container.

  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Rate of Growth: Vigorous.
  • Habit: Tall, clump forming bamboo.
