Originally selected from a wild population of Eucryphia lucida near Smithton in Tasmania, 1984, Eucryphia lucida 'Pink Cloud' has fragrant white, flushed-pink, rose-like flowers with white stamens in summer.

These flowers stand out well against the dark green leaves and can be very eye-catching when large numbers appear on an established plant.


  • Position: Sheltered in full sun or partial shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Somewhat hardy. Eucryphia lucida 'Pink Cloud' requires a warm position and shelter from cold winter winds.
  • Flowering Period: July - August.
  • Flower Colour: White flushed with pink
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Eventually a small, densely branching tree.
    • Height: up to 8 m (26 ft).
    • Spread: 4 m (13 ft).
  • Notes: Prune to shape after flowering if required. This cultivar is similar in appearance to Eucryphia lucida 'Ballerina' and they differ in that the 'Pink Cloud' has white flower stamen and the 'Ballerina' has crimson flower stamen.
