(Golden Himalayan Cedar) A handsome upright evergreen tree with spreading branches which arch at the tips. The needles are light yellow-green in colour, with the young growth in Spring being golden-yellow when it emerges. The leader grows with a pendulous tip.

  • Hardiness: Hardy. Cedrus deodara 'Aurea' appreciates shelter from strong, cold winter winds.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Cedrus deodara 'Aurea' is a smaller tree once established than a typical Cedrus deodara and is typically upright with spreading, arching branches once established.  
    • Height: up to 10 - 12 m (32 - 40 ft).
    • Spread: 6 - 8 m (20 - 26 ft)
  • Notes: Cedrus deodara 'Aurea' is initially slow growing. After one or two years, once established, it starts to grow at a more vigorous rate.
