(Himalayan Birch) New to us, Betula x 'Edinburgh' is a vigorous, upright, reasonably narrow tree with handsome white peeling bark once established. The summer leaves are green with some yellow autumn colour before falling. A young specimen in our gardens here has bark colouring up nicely after after a few years.

Best in a position with full sun and decent drainage.

  • Habit: Betula x 'Edinburgh' grows to be a medium sized, slender tree.

  • Notes: A cross hybrid between Betula utilis and Betula albosinensis originally found growing in Edinburgh Botanical Garden.
