Native to the southernmost of the main islands of Japan, Tilia kiusiana does not really look like a normal lime tree and instead when mature looks more like an upright, gnarled birch. It has small, interesting green leaves which can turn pleasing shades of yellow in autumn before falling.
Clusters of scented white flowers adorn the branches in mid to late summer. A fascinating garden tree and an ideal gift for a real tree connoisseur!
