Available Spring 2019  An evergreen plant native to the Azores, Prunus lusitanica subsp azorica has handsome, thick, glossy leaves, reddish when young turning bright green later in the year. Established plants have attractive, upright clusters os white flowers in summer. 

Prunus lusitanica subsp azorica is hardy (although it will not appreciate a very cold, exposed, windy position) and in time grows to be a medium to large shrub It can be pruned if required and does well in sun or partial shade. Excellent for screening or planting as a hedge.

Supplied Size: 3L pots (30 - 40 cm tall)

  • Soil: Any fertile soil.

  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Prunus lusitanica subsp azorica  grows to be a medium sized to large, densely branching shrub (can be pruned if required).
