Description

Available Autumn/Winter 2019 A splendid ground covering selection, Mahonia aquifolium 'Apollo'  has dense clusters of yellow flowers in spring and dark green summer leaves (with bronze/red tints in winter).

It is slow growing, reaching a height of approx about 18" to 2' feet high and is equally happy in full sun or shade.

Supplied Size: 3L pots (approx 3 - 4 years old, 20 - 25 cm tall)


  • Position: Full sun or shade.
  • Soil: Well drained soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Flowering Period: late February - April.
  • Flower Colour: Bright yellow.
  • Rate of Growth: Slow to moderate.
  • Habit: Mahonia aquifolium 'Apollo'  grows to be a low, ground cover shrub.
    • Height: 40 - 60 cm (up to 2 ft).
    • Spread: 100 - 120 cm (3 - 4 ft).
