Information Only - A native to Central Chile in South America, Eucryphia cordifolia is an elegant small, evergreen tree with wavy-edged, dark green leaves and masses of ivory-white flowers in late summer. These flowers are slightly scented and popular with bees and other insects.

Eucryphia cordifolia is an unusual and eye-catching garden tree for sheltered areas!

This plant is currently listed on our website for Information Only - While we have grown this plant before, sadly it is not currently available for sale. We hope to have this plant for sale at some point in the future and at this time it will be re-enabled on our website.

  • Position: Sheltered in full sun or partial shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil. Eucryphia cordifolia will tolerate limey soils to some degree.
  • Hardiness: Somewhat hardy. Eucryphia cordifolia requires a warm position and shelter from cold winter winds.
  • Flowering Period: July - August.
  • Flower Colour: Ivory white
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Eventually a small, densely branching tree.
    • Height: up to 8 m (26 ft).
    • Spread: 6 m (20 ft).
