Camellia japonica 'Desire' is a lovely medium sized evergreen shrub with pale pink to white, formal, semi-double flowers in spring. These flowers are eye catching and contrast very well with the lush, dark green leaves.

Camellia japonica 'Desire' is an excellent flowering shrub for a position in sun or light, dappled shade.

Supplied Size: 3L pots (approx 25 - 35 cm tall)

  • Position: Full sun or shade (avoid east facing areas)
  • Soil: Neutral or preferably acid soil. In chalky areas, Camellia japonica 'Desire' can be grown in a large container with ericaceous compost.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Flowering Period: Feb - April.
  • Rate of Growth: Slow to moderate.
  • Habit: Medium sized shrub.
    • Height: 2 m (6 ft)
    • Spread: 1.5 m (5 ft)
  • Pruning: Prune Camellia japonica 'Desire' to shape if required after flowering but before new growth begins in spring.
