Description

Very unusual and slow growing, Acer palmatum 'Sharp's Pygmy' has a compact, rounded habit with smallish green summer leaves (purple tinted in spring) turning orange and red in autumn before falling. 

Acer palmatum 'Sharp's Pygmy' is very slow growing and suited for large containers or for gardens with limited space.

Supplied Size: 3L pots (stem of approx 30 - 40 cm tall, grafted at top with an approx 2 - 3 year old head of branches)


  • Position: Full sun or partial shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy. Acer palmatum 'Sharp's Pygmy' will grow best when planted in an area sheltered from strong winds.
  • Rate of Growth: Very slow.
