A handsome garden tree, Acer grosseri has green bark covered with fine silver lines once established and dark green leaves which turn shades or yellow, orange and red in autumn. 

Acer grosseri will grow to be a small tree in time and although hardy will usually do best in sun or light, dappled shade with some shelter from strong wind.  

Supplied Size: 4L or 5L pots (approx 125 - 150 cm tall)

  • Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Any well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy. Acer grosseri requires shelter from cold winter winds.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Acer grosseri grows to be a small or eventually a medium sized, branching tree.
    • Height: 8 - 10 m (26 - 32 ft) / up to 4 - 5 m after 10 years
    • Spread: 8 m (26 ft) / up to 2.5 - 3 m (8 - 10 ft) after 10 years
