Description

Available Summer 2019 - A native to Eastern and Northern parts of the USA, Eupatorium purpureum forms large clumps of tall stalks with flat, purple-pink, flower heads in late summer. Very good for butterflies and other native insects, this plant is spectacular when used as a back drop in flowering borders to provide architectural height.

  • Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Any fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Flowering Period: August - September.
  • Rate of Growth: Vigorous.
  • Habit: Majestic, clump forming, upright perennial.
    • Height: 2 - 2.5 m (6 - 8 ft)
    • Spread: 1.5 m (5 ft)
  • Notes: An excellent, tough, late flowering plant for enticing insects, bees and butterflies into the garden.
