A deciduous or sometimes semi-evergreen climber, Lonicera x brownii 'Dropmore Scarlet' has whorls of orange-scarlet flowers from July to September. These flowers are not particularly scented but are very colourful and stand out from a distance against the green leaves.

Lonicera x brownii 'Dropmore Scarlet' is ideal for growing up trellis or along wires against a sunny wall or fence

Supplied Size: 2L deep pots (40 - 50 cm tall)

  • Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Flowering Period: July - September.
  • Flower Colour: Orange.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous.
  • Habit: Lonicera x brownii 'Dropmore Scarlet' grows to be a small or eventually medium sized climbing plant which requires support as it will not self-cling.
    • Height: up to 3 - 4 m (10 - 13 ft)
    • Spread: up to 2.5 m (8 ft)
