Available Autum/Winter 2018 A lovely garden plant, Jasminum x stephanense is a twining climber, bearing clusters of pale-pink, fragrant flowers from mid to late summer. A deciduous Jasmine, this is easy to grow and ideal for climbing up trellis or wires against a south or west facing wall.

Supplied Size: 2 - 3L deep containers (40 - 60 cm tall)

  • Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Reasonably hardy. In very mild winters Jasminum x stephanense can retain some of its leaves.
  • Flowering Period: June - August.
  • Flower Colour: Pink / pale purple
  • Rate of Growth: Vigorous.
  • Habit: Jasminum x stephanense grows to be a medium sized twining, climbing plant which requires support as it will not self-cling.
    • Height: up to 5 m (16 ft) if left unpruned
    • Spread: 3 m (10 ft)
  • Notes: Originally found growing wild in western China, this plant is a cross between Jasminum beesianum (Red Jasmine) and officinale (White Jasmine). To encourage flowering prune out thin, old shoots after the flowers have fallen in September each year.
