A tough and sturdy tree, this is ideal for planting in shelter belts, windbreaks and woodland areas in exposed areas.


  • Position: Full sun or partial shade.
  • Soil: Any fertile soil. Sorbus aucuparia will tolerate very acid soils.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous.
  • Habit: Small branching tree.
    • Height: 10 m (32 ft)
    • Spread: 8 m (26 ft)
  • Notes: May be ordered at any time of year but available for delivery from late November to February.
