Description

A small deciduous tree, Sorbus aucuparia has dark green, pinnate leaves and large bunches of bright reddish-orange fruit in autumn which are very popular with birds. A tough and sturdy tree, this is ideal for planting in shelter belts, windbreaks and woodland areas in exposed areas.

Supplied Size: Bundles of 50 bare root plants, (approx 40 - 60 cm tall).


  • Position: Full sun or partial shade.
  • Soil: Any fertile soil. Sorbus aucuparia will tolerate very acid soils.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous.
  • Habit: Small branching tree.
    • Height: 10 m (32 ft)
    • Spread: 8 m (26 ft)
  • Notes: Available from late November to February.
