Description

A hardy small tree, Sorbus 'Ethel's Gold' has clusters of small white flowers in early summer followed by masses of long-lasting, golden yellow berries in autumn. The summer leaves are dark green with vivid yellow, orange and red autumn tints as they fall.

A handsome tree with excellent autumn berries, suitable for most gardens or woodland areas.

Supplied Size: 3L pots (approx 3 years old, 60 - 80 cm tall)

  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soils. Avoid planting in areas prone to waterlogging.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.

  • Habit: Sorbus 'Ethel's Gold' grows to be a small, branching, rounded tree.

  • Notes: This Sorbus is usually considered to be a tough, low maintenance garden tree.
  • Important Please Read - Sorbus (Rowan / Mountain Ash) species and cultivars are not and cannot be affected by the Ash disease, Chalara fraxinea.  Despite the potentially confusing name, mountain ashes are actually in the rose family, Rosacaea, and are closely related to apples and pears etc. Fraxinus excelsior (Common ash), are in the olive family, Oleaceae and the wind born disease recently found in the UK is completely specific to this genus.
