Available Autumn 2017 -  A hybrid between Quercus palustris and Quercus rubra, this oak has very large, deeply lobed leaves and particularly vivid red and orange autumn colour. An unusual garden tree for autumn colour!

  • Position: Full sun.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil. The autumn colour of Quercus x richteri is somewhat dependant upon the soil pH and the foliage will produce a better, stronger autumn colour in more acidic soils.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Rate of Growth: Vigorous.
  • Habit: Large tree with a reasonably narrow crown once established.
    • Height: 25 m (82 ft)
    • Spread: 15 m (50 ft)
