Available Autumn 2017 - A rare Oak native to south west China and similar to Quercus dentata in appearance with large, handsome dark green leaves with pointed leaf lobes. 

Quercus yunnanensis will eventually grow to be a small tree in the UK but in our experience requires a sunny position with shelter from wind to do well.

  • Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Moist, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Somewhat hardy. Requires a sheltered position and possible protection in cold winters.
  • Rate of Growth: Slow to moderate.
  • Habit: Quercus yunnanensis is a small tree or eventually medium sized tree a branching, rounded crown.
    • Height: estimated up to 6 - 8 m (20 - 26 ft)
    • Spread: 6 m (20 ft)
