Description
Handsome and yet an often overlooked small tree,
Malus prunifolia was first found in North-east Asia, and is known for its masses of very attractive white flowers in spring. The flowers are rose-crimson while in bud, opening to white flushed with pink in spring. These are followed by large amounts of small, bright red fruit in autumn. The fruit has a distinctive sharp taste and the sheer amount produced makes it an excellent tree for attracting wildlife to the garden.
