Description

An unusual shrub or small tree native to China, Magnolia biondii is a deciduous plant which has masses of dainty, fragrant white or white flushed pink flowers in late winter or early spring before the leaves emerge. The leaves when they emerge are mid green in colour.

Magnolia biondii is a lovely flowering plant but as it flowers so early in the year, often does best in the UK when planted in a sheltered, west facing position where the flowers are protected from early morning frost.
