Description
Native to South-east Europe and known for its valuable timber, Juglans regia is a large ornamental tree with dark green, aromatic leaves and edible nuts. Established trees (5 - 15 years old) produce small, inconspicuous flower in spring followed by edible nuts later in autumn which can be picked from the tree and pickled while immature or allowed to ripen into the classic walnuts.
