Late flowering female cultivar,
Ilex verticillata 'Winter Red' has dark green leaves and masses of vivid red berries in autumn which are very ornamental and popular with birds. Initially, the colourful fruit stand out well against the green foliage and then continue to stay on the branches as the leaves start to fall. A reliable cultivar, several established plants in a border will give a fantastic display of colour in autumn!
