Description

A colourful evergreen shrub, Griselinia littoralis 'Variegata' has apple-green leaves edged with a creamy-white, irregular, variegation. These variegated leaves can help brighten an otherwise dark area of a garden. An easy to grow shrub which makes an excellent screen once established.

• Common name: Variegated New Zealand Privet.
• Position: Full sun.
• Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
• Hardiness: Reasonably hardy. Griselinia littoralis 'Variegata' requires protection from severe winter frost in cooler parts of the U.K.
• Flowering Period: June - August.
• Flower Colour: Pale yellow
• Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous but a smaller plant then the classic Griselinia littoralis.
• Habit: Medium or eventually large densely branching, rounded shrub.
  • Height: 3 m (10 ft).
  • Spread: 2.5 m (8 ft).
• Notes: Griselinia littoralis 'Variegata' can be grown as a hedge if pruned regularly.
