Description
Rare cultivar of Beech first found in the late nineteenth century in Germany, Fagus sylvatica 'Ansorgei' is a very slow growing with fine, narrow and willow-like, deep purple leaves.
Although, not quite a weeping plant, this produces long arching branches which are very elegant in appearance, especially when growing out over a path, stream or pond.

Habit: Eventually a very small, spreading tree with long, arching branches.

Notes: Please be aware that this will not grow to reach the above size for many years. A specimen of Fagus sylvatica 'Ansorgei', planted in the woodland garden surrounding our nursery has reached a height of 1.5 m, a spread of 2 m after 12 years.
