Description

Available late Summer 2018 - An eye-catching tree native to South-eastern North America, Crataegus phaenopyrum has maple-like leaves which turn shades of vibrant, burgundy red and orange in autumn.

Once established, Crataegus phaenopyrum has a very fetching, rounded habit and also produces lovely clusters of orange to bright red fruit in late autumn which can last into the following year.

  • Soil: Any fertile soil. Crataegus phaenopyrum is somewhat drought resistant and tolerant of dry soils.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.

  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Crataegus phaenopyrum grows to be a small branching, rounded tree.
    • Height: Eventually up to 8 m (26 ft).
    • Spread: 8 m (26 ft).
  • Notes: Crataegus phaenopyrum has nearly year round interest with its fetching, long lasting fruit in winter.
