Description
A lovely small tree which is native to the Eastern Mediterranean region, Cercis siliquastrum 'Bodnant' has masses of vivid dark purple/ pink flowers in May. These flowers appear on bare wood before the leaves emerge and makes the whole plant appear as though it is covered in a rosy-purple mist. The leaves are heart-shaped, bronze to burgundy when they first emerge and darkening to lush green in summer before turning butter yellow and falling in autumn.
