Description

Available Autumn/Winter 2017 The lacy and delicate leaves of Acer palmatum 'Orido-nishiki' have a pretty cream and pink variegation when they emerge in spring. This pink and white colour can also be found on the young growing stems. During the summer, the leaves then darken to an attractive pink, white and green.

A highly ornamental plant, Acer palmatum 'Orido-nishiki' is suitable for most gardens and can also be grown successfully in a large container!

Supplied Size: 3L pots (approx 2 - 3 years old, 25 - 30 cm tall)


  • Position: Light dappled or partial shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy. Acer palmatum 'Orido-nishiki' will grow best when planted in an area sheltered from strong winds.
  • Rate of Growth: Slow to moderate.
  • Habit: Acer palmatum 'Orido-nishiki' eventually grows to be a large, branching shrub.
    • Height: 3 m (10 ft) / [up to 2 m (6 ft) after 10 years]
    • Spread: 3 m (10 ft) / [up to 2 m (6 ft) after 10 years]
  • Notes: This plant is also known as Acer palmatum 'Asa hizuru'.
