Description

An ornamental tree native to central China, Acer davidii has jade green bark covered with snake-like white stripes which are particularly eye-catching in winter. The leaves are dark green in spring and summer, turning shades of orange and yellow before falling in autumn.

A garden tree ideal for planting in a sheltered position, either as a standalone specimen or as part of a woody border. Particularly good next to a path or door, where the elegant habit and winter bark is best appreciated.

• Hardiness: Hardy. Acer davidii requires shelter from cold winter winds.
