Description

A beautiful, evergreen selection, Lonicera japonica 'Hall's Prolific' has dark green, oval leaves and masses of beautiful, fragrant flowers. These flowers open as white or cream, turning yellow from mid to late summer, even on young plants. After flowering it has ornamental, small, purplish-black berries.

Features

  • Common name: Japanese Honeysuckle.
  • Position: Full sun or partial shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy. In very cold winters, Lonicera japonica 'Hall's Prolific' can loose some of its leaves, which will regrow in the following year.
  • Flowering Period: May - August.
  • Rate of Growth: Vigorous.
  • Habit: Large, twining climbing plant which requires support as it will not self-cling.
    • Height: up to 6 m (20 ft)
    • Spread: 3 m (10 ft)
  • Notes: Lonicera japonica 'Hall's Prolific' will flower best in a warm, sunny position. This plant was formerly called Lonicera japonica 'Halliana'.
  • Size: 60 - 80 cm tall in 2L deep containers
